catnap is a Claude Code mod that lets Claude compact its own conversation and carry on by itself. Claude Code normally compacts when the context window fills up, usually in the middle of a task, so catnap gives Claude a heads-up at 50% instead: Claude finishes the piece it is on, writes itself a handoff note, compacts, and carries on without you typing anything.

The warning comes at 50% of the window rather than when it is full.
Claude writes itself a note before compacting so context survives.
After compacting it carries on by itself with nothing to type.
