Q: What is Codeium?

Codeium is a code AI tool listed on Use AI Tools. Codeium was Exafunction's free AI coding toolkit, later rebranded as Windsurf. After Google hired the founders and licensed the technology in July 2025, Cognition acquired the remaining business and renamed the standalone editor Devin Desktop in June 2026. The editor extensions kept the Windsurf Plugin name, so codeium.com now redirects to devin.ai/desktop.
