Instant is a Mac app that finds files by what is in them. You type what you remember rather than a filename, and it surfaces the matching notes, PDFs, spreadsheets and documents with the relevant passage highlighted. Everything runs fully offline, so nothing leaves your Mac, and it is optimised for Apple silicon on macOS 15 or later.
Be the first to rate Instant Search. Your feedback helps other users decide.
Type a phrase you remember and find the file that contains the idea.
Cover Markdown, PDF, DOCX, TXT and CSV files in one index.
Run search entirely on-device with no upload.
