Murmur is a free, open-source macOS menu bar dictation app: hold a key, speak, let go, and your words appear at the cursor in any app. It uses your own OpenAI API key for speech-to-text and is positioned as an alternative to Wispr Flow and Superwhisper. It is built with Swift and SwiftUI, requires macOS 14 or later and is released under MIT.
