OpenComputerUse is computer use for agents that runs in the background, as an MCP server. You start a session with an app and get back a session id, drive the app with that id, then end the session. The app works behind your other windows and your pointer, keyboard focus and frontmost app stay where they are, and sessions end when the MCP server exits.
Be the first to rate OpenComputerUse. Your feedback helps other users decide.
Start a session, use the returned id, and end it when done.
The pointer, keyboard focus and frontmost app stay yours.
On macOS it installs as a cask from a third-party tap.

Ten recent launches for running agents where they can do less harm: virtual machines, air-gapped sandboxes, sequencers, and control planes you host yourself.
Four Show HN launches that verify agent work rather than trusting its summary: an execution record, an AI-app scanner, a local guardrail and adversarial tests.
Five Show HN launches that keep work on your machine: a ternary model runner, a distillation proxy, a PostgreSQL client, CAD over MCP and a local ETL builder.
Four Show HN launches around voice and ops: voice planning for agents, a live game coach, CI for AI phone agents and a self-hosted MCP platform on Kubernetes.
Ten Show HN launches that answer the same question differently: where does what an agent learned live, who owns it, and who can read it back?
