Zot is a coding agent harness delivered as a single binary. There is no runtime to install, no Docker, and no package manager — the project describes itself as just the agent loop, written in Go, that you drop on your PATH and run. It supports extensions, models, and themes, and is aimed at developers who find the existing harnesses heavier than they need.

Guides and comparisons about code tools
Eleven new tools for running coding agents: sandboxes, agent version control, local runtimes and quantizers launched between April and October 2026.
Nine tools for supervising coding agents: phone alerts when an agent blocks, review inboxes, menu-bar contacts, shared scratchpads and team boards.
Nine tools that constrain what an agent can produce and reach: slop-detecting lint rules, declared sandbox tiers, cheaper crawling and signed messaging.
Twenty-five coding tools sorted by what they do: autocomplete, codebase comprehension, testing, or self-hostable models, from CodeGeeX to Codestral.
Coding agents increased output but not shipped software. The gap is verification, context and drift. Here is what converts agent output into working systems.
