Needle 3 is a foundation model shipped as a single 8 to 29 MB binary for phones, wearables, robots and microcontrollers. Its 29 to 121 million parameters are organised as laddered subnetworks from 2 to 20 layers, so you pick the size that fits your device. It handles tool calls, structured extraction and text embeddings, decoding 400 to 4,000 tokens per second on a Raspberry Pi 5. Install it with pip and decorate functions to expose them as tools.
