RainbowSay is a macOS app for learning, teaching or researching a language from the shows, movies and podcasts you already love. It listens along with the video, pauses at the end of each sentence, and shows a card with the translation, a vocabulary list with romanized readings and a grammar note. The original line is replayed with a word-by-word highlight, questions about it are answered in a chat panel, and pressing Continue resumes the video. It listens to audio only and never records your screen.

Play a series or podcast; the app pauses at the end of each sentence and shows what was just said.
See the translation, a vocabulary list with romanized readings, and a grammar note on the ending or construction.
Ask why a particle or ending was used, get the answer in the chat panel, then resume the video.
