Windsurf (formerly Codeium) is an agentic IDE built around the Cascade agent, which tracks your edits, commands and project context to refactor across multiple files rather than one line at a time. It handles multi-file refactors, terminal commands and project-wide context within the editor. The tool has changed ownership: Google licensed the technology and hired the founders in July 2025, and Cognition acquired the remaining company the same month. The editor was later renamed Devin Desktop, with Cascade, keybindings and extensions unchanged.
This product is now called Devin Desktop. The link below still works and takes you to the current site.
